Course Content

Physical Chemistry - In this course, students look at the structure of the atom and how this relates to physical properties. We explore how electrons behave in chemical reactions, at the speed of reactions and the energy involved with these reactions. Also we calculate how much energy is created in a reaction and explore how this can be manipulated and improved.

Inorganic Chemistry - Students examine the trends that happen within the periodic table.

Organic Chemistry - Students study the many reactions of carbon– based molecules and how these relate to life, medicine, industrial chemistry and analytical techniques.

Exams (3 x 2 Hour Papers)
