Course Description
In order to follow COSHH regulations, employees working in the appropriate conditions must have a tight-fitting respirator. Face fit testing is also needed to follow the Control of Lead at Work Regulations and the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations. This test ensures that you can carry out jobs requiring RPE safely.
Who should attend?
A face fit test is a necessity when working with Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE). Candidates must bring all PPE they would wear on the job to the face fit test to ensure an accurate fit. They must also be clean shaven to attend.
By the end of this test, candidates will have:
- Worn their selected RPE and performed a series of light exercises.
- Been assessed by a qualified, trained operator.
- Undergone either a qualitative test (for half masks) or a quantitative test (for full masks).
- Repeated the appropriate test until an appropriate fit can be found.
