Course Level: A-Level
Course Description
Students will be introduced to a variety of experience that explore a range of three—dimensional media, processes and techniques which might include: working in wood, metal, plastics. They will explore both traditional and new media through research and practical work. During the course, students will explore the use of drawing for different purposes, using a variety of methods and media on different scales as well as developing three dimensional responses to a given brief.
The emphasis for this course is on practical work. Students must create three dimensional responses to a given brief in Year 12 and for the assessed part of the course, develop a personal investigation from an area of their choosing. Often this will be developed from an educational visit or through interaction with a current Practitioner.
Students should be aware of the four assessment objectives to be demonstrated in the context and skills Presented. They should be aware of the importance of process as well as product.
It also offers a logical progression from GCSE as the assessment objectives, structure and titles are very similar to those specified in the AQA GCSE Art and Design specification.
